Dear Ambassador Madanjeet Singhji,

I am taking he liberty of writing to you in continuation to Professor NK Jha's email to you, of which I also received a copy.

The seven member Indian Inter University academic delegation which visited Lahore between September 3-10 was led by me and the response from the Pakistani side was very positive. The interactions with Prof. Mujahid Kamran, Vice Chancellor of the University of the Punjab, Dr. Rukhsana David, Principal of Kinnaird College and their faculty and students laid the groundwork for future dialogue and collaboration. The Pakistan National Center for the Arts (PNCA) also hosted a special cultural event for us in Lahore where I met Mr. Naeem Tahir, the former Director General and other cultural icons who want to carry the process of intercation and cooperation at the educational and cultural levels with Indian academia forward quickly.

The work done by the South Asia Federation under your leadership in the region has been salutary. It is my own view that the SAC at Pondicherry Central University must be aggressively engaged in this process of cross border dialogue in South Asia and will be happy to offer my own support and expertise as considered appropriate for this purpose by the SAF.

With personal regards,

Vijay Kapur
