Presentation of the Nepali version of the 'SASIA Story' by SAF-Nepal Chairperson Dr. Rita Thapa to the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly Subash C. Nemwang

Chairman of Nepal's Constituent Assembly (CA) and Speaker of the Interim Parliament Subash C. Nemwang received on April 29th from Chairperson of SAF-Nepal Dr. Rita Thapa the Nepali version of the 'SASIA Story' (SASIA Ko Katha) written by SAF Founder Ambassador Madanjeet Singh at a ceremony held at the Constituent Assembly secretariat, Kathmandu. The first elected Constitutent Assembly of Nepal elected on April 10, 2008 is currently embarking on a historic exercise to draft a new democratic, secular, federal and inclusive Constitution for Nepal. On the occasion, the Deputy Chairman/Deputy Speaker of the CA Purna Kumari Subedi, M.Ps representing major political parties,  Secretary General of the Constitutent Assembly secretariat Mr. Manohar Prasad Bhattarai and Secretary of SAF-Nepal Nishchal N. Pandey were also present. Dr. Thapa also handed over a few books on Constitution building, federalism, democratic governance, fundamental rights of ctizens, etc. to the CA library.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Thapa said that as a health worker and practioner, she was concerned with the plights of women and children in the country and requested their rights be guaranteed in the new Constitution. Chairman Mr. Nemwang thanked SAF-Nepal for the generous contribution of books and said that these would be useful for the CA members.
