Mr Nishchal N. Pandey secretary to SAF Nepal chapter, delivered a keynote on 'National Interest and Nepal's Participation in the SAARC Process'. The Prime Minister Hon'ble Madhav Kumar Nepal was the chief guest while the Vice-Chairman of the ruling party (CPN-UML) and Former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Mr. Bam Dev Gautam can also be seen on the dias. Advisor to Former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala Dr. Shambhu Ram Shimkahada also presented a paper.

Apart from other issues concerning Nepal's participation in the SAARC; I used the platform to  acquaint the Prime Minister as well as the audience on activities of the SAF and SAF Founder's vision to introduce a common currency for our region. Since there was an all-party representation at the conference, it was one of its kind and will be much easier for us to deal with the highest political leadership in the future despite of the unstable politics here. I also presented a copy each of the 'SASIA Story' and 'Kashmiriyat' to the Prime Minister and to Mr. Gautam. Since it was not a SAF Event per se, I couldn't do a formal presentation of the books by clicking photos with the chief guest.
