UNESCO Headquaters, Paris, 11 February 2025 – To mark the 10-year anniversary of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, UNESCO launched the global campaign “Imagine a World with More Women in Science.” Supported by Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the campaign highlights the vital role of women in shaping scientific progress. This campaign demonstrated the essential role women play in driving progress in science and calls on the global community to not only envision, but also work towards, a more gender-balanced scientific community where every voice is heard.

During the event, Madam France Marquet, Trustee, Madanjeet Singh Foundation, met Ms. Ariana Cortez, Vice Chancellor of the Metropolitan University of Educational Sciences (UMCE), Santiago, Chile.
UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Chair for the Promoting Tolerance and Non-Violence in Chile and Latin America, the Chair is established at Metropolitan University of Educational Sciences (UMCE) in Santiago, Chile and was inaugurated on 3 October 2017 in the presence of Madam France Marquet. The UNESCO Chair has also got extension for next 4 Years. The Chair is currently held by Professor Francisco Javier Estévez Valencia, co-laureate of the 2014 UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Prize for Tolerance and Non-Violence.

As the campaign gains momentum with the hashtag #EveryVoiceInScience, global leaders continue to push for systemic change, ensuring that the contributions of women in science, technology, medicine, and artificial intelligence are recognized and celebrated worldwide.
