In a recent development, an external evaluation of the UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence was conducted between May and June 2024. The evaluation reviewed both the Statutes of the Prize and the Revised Overall Strategy for UNESCO Prizes.

Based on the findings of the evaluation, the Director-General of UNESCO has formally presented a report to the Executive Board. This report highlights the positive impact of the Prize in promoting tolerance and non-violence globally, and as a result, the Director-General has recommended the renewal of the Prize for a further six-year period.

This proposal underscores UNESCO's ongoing commitment to fostering peace and understanding worldwide, particularly through recognizing individuals and organizations who contribute significantly to the promotion of tolerance and non-violence. The renewal of this Prize ensures continued global recognition for efforts aligned with these values.
