Afghanistan’s Minister of Information and Culture, Sayed Makhdoum Raheen, came to see me at Villa Surya on 17 June 2003, accompanied by Ambassador Zaheer Aziz, Permanent Delegate of Afghanistan to UNESCO, and François Langlois, a director in the Culture Sector at UNESCO.
The meeting was presided over by the former President of India, K. R. Narayanan.
