Dear Friends,
I had done a talk at the recently concluded 3 day Apni Basti Mela held in the newly cleaned up park in the Nizamuddin Basti in New Delhi, an initiative of the Aga Khan Foundation as part of their conservation and restoration project. This was organized by Rang, the young photographers collective and their Open Library project. They brought photography books to be shared in an open library during the mela. I donated a copy of Madanjeet Singh's 'This my People' for their collection on the occasion and spoke about the book and the photos. Of particular interest to the residents of the Basti were the pictures of partition refugees in Delhi in 1947.
I am sharing two pictures of the book at the event taken by Chandan Gomes, one of the organizers.
Best, Ram Rahman
