South Asia Foundation (SAF) is a secular, non-political and non-profit organization established for the promotion of regional cooperation through SAF institutions of excellence and groups scholarships in all the SAARC countries, based on gender equality.
Accordingly next morning, before the departure of Ambassador Madanjeet Singh and Mme France Marquet for Delhi, Dr Roland Silva, Chancellor and Prof. Malik Ranasinghe, Vice- Chancellor of Moratuwa University met with them.
Sri Lanka Chapter of the South Asia Foundation (SAF) was incorporated under the Company Act of 05th August 2002. The Sri Lanka Chapter is headed by an Advisory Board of a maximum of 09 Members. The Founder Chairman was Hon. Lakshman Kadirgamar, followed by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera. The present Chairperson is HE Madam Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.
Chaired by Mme Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumratunga and attended by eminent personalities.
During a meeting lasting about an hour, Ambassador Madanjeet Singh traced the origin and achievements of South Asia Foundation (SAF) since it was established in 2000.
