Paris, France – In a poignant tribute to the late Mr. Federico Mayor Zaragoza (1934–2024), former Director-General of UNESCO (1987–1999), Madam France Marquet, Principal Trustee of the Madanjeet Singh Foundation (MSF) and South Asia Foundation (SAF) Representative to UNESCO, attended a special ceremony honoring his remarkable life and contributions. The event celebrated Mr. Mayor’s enduring legacy as a Spanish scientist, scholar, politician, diplomat, and poet, as well as his profound friendship with UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Madanjeet Singh, founder of SAF and MSF.

In the footage, Ambassador Madanjeet Singh is seen addressing a gathering, while Mr. Federico Mayor listens intently. In a heartfelt gesture, Mr. Mayor referred to Amb. Singh as a “Son of India,” underscoring the deep mutual respect and bond they shared.
