Since 1967, UNESCO International Literacy Prizes have rewarded excellence and innovation in the field of literacy. Over 490 projects and programmes undertaken by governments, non-governmental organizations and individuals around the world have been recognized. Through these prestigious Prizes, UNESCO seeks to support effective literacy practices and encourages the promotion of dynamic literate societies.
Ms Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, invites you to submit nominations ''widely in your country, among local public education, learning and training institutions, public and private organizations and other stakeholders involved in literacy programmes''.
The nomination process will take place via an online platform. An applicant can access the online application form by requesting the creation of a user account through this link: www.unesco.org/ilp/account. The deadline for nominations isSunday 23 June 2019.
