(Art statement)

Slates are still used in rural areas to teach a child, to allow him/her to explore their creativity, slate is like a canvas for the kids in rural areas. I have used (11) eleven slates in my artwork each of which represents an element of childhood through the drawing & painting. When girls marry they are forced to drop out of school so they can assume household responsibilities. This is the denial of their right to an education, girls who leave school have worse health and economic outcomes than those who stay in school eventually their children face worse as well.
