“From promoting to building peace with NGOs” – Sixth International Forum of NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO

Organized by the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee in close cooperation with the UNESCO Secretariat, the Sixth International Forum of NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO will be held in Querétaro, Mexico on 3 and 4 November 2016.
The topic chosen for this Forum - “From promoting to building peace with NGOs” - lies at the heart of UNESCO’s mandate and is expected to highlight meaningful experiences of promoting and building peace by NGOs.
Thus, discussions will be organized around three general themes:
- EDUCATION: A PATH FOR LASTING PEACE”
- Lifelong Peace Education and Global Citizenship Education”
- Higher Education: from research to action”
- Education for Sustainable Development”
- THE ENGAGEMENT OF YOUTH FOR PEACE”
- CULTURE AND SPORT: TOOLS FOR PEACE”
- Arts: A Tool for Dialogue”
- Sport as a Vector of Peace”
This Forum will gather NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO, but is also open to the participation of other institutions and representatives of Member States, subject to prior registration on the website of the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee (www.ong-unesco.org).
