I am deeply saddened to hear of this. I had just shown his book of photography and presented it to the young Rang collective in Delhi and was just about to approach him to show his photographs in the United Art Fair in Delhi in September. While many of you know his work in Unesco and the South Asia Foundation, I had great respect for his photography done from the mid 1940s to the mid 1950s in India. It is an important body of work, so even in Indian photography history, Madanjeet has an important place.
With deepest condolences to France and the family.
