Respected UNESCO Director-General Mme Irina  Bokova,
Distinguished UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors,
Eminent Artists for Peace
and Champions for Sport,

On behalf of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Madanjeet Singh and in my capacity as a Trustee of South Asia Foundation (SAF) I have great pleasure to announce a SAF contribution of one million U.S. dollars to UNESCO to be used specifically for women education and empowerment.

May I also take this opportunity to show a short 7 minutes video with glimpses from the 12 UNESCO Madanjeet Singh institutions of excellence in the 8 SAARC countries – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka – as well as excerpts from the speech by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on 29 June 2012 at the SAF Institute of South Asian Regional Cooperation, University of Pondicherry.

Thank you very much,

France Marquet
