First students at the UMCDRC, UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Center for Development and Regional Cooperation

Four SAF Madanjeet Singh scholars were enrolled in the 4 years of development studies and regional cooperation program at the Kathmandu University yesterday and a welcome program was held in Kathmandu. SAARC Secretary General H.E. Ahmed Saleem and Mrs. Ayesha Saleem graced the welcome program to new students which was attended by the Registrar, faculty, large number of regular students of the College and the media.

Thanks to the generous assistance of Amb. Madanjeet Singh, these students from Bhutan, India, Sri Lanka and Nepal will now be able to pursue their studies in a world class environment under the UNESCO Madanjeet Centre for Development Studies and Regional Cooperation.

The SAARC Secretary General thanked the SAF which is an apex body of SAARC for promoting regional cooperation by having South Asian students to study together.
