About the Speaker: Prof. Ganganath Jha is Professor in Southeast Asian Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, has been involved in teaching and research in the last four decades. His special areas of interests have been political developments in Thailand and Myanmar. He is teaching various courses on Politics of Modern Southeast Asia. He has so far written seven books and they are: Foreign Policy of Thailand (Radiant, 1977), Southeast Asia and India: A Political Perspective (NBO, 1987), Ethnic Politics in Southeast Asia (NBO, 1998), Society and Politics in Indonesia (Shipra, 2003), Society and Politics in Southeast Asia (Anamika, 2009), India and Southeast Asia: Introduction for Future Partnership (Anamika, 2010), Rising India in the Changing Asia-Pacific (Pentagon, 2012). Besides he has contributed in dozens of articles in edited volumes of national and international journals.
