Funds for Government College University for computer education

In order to meet the challenges of the 21st century, in 2002 the Government College decided to upgrade its Department of Computer Science.

The SAF agreed to support this programme and pay for the hiring of two visiting faculty Professors to teach Computer Architecture, Computer Communication and Networks.

The following semester the SAF decided to pay for the appointment of three Faculty members to teach Digital Logic Design, Software Engineering, System Programming and Artificial Intelligence.

Dear Madanjeet Singh Sahib,

Hope you are fine. lt has been sometime since we were in a direct contact, though Dr. Iftikhar Hussain Shah keeps me informed of the developments in regard to your kind help for Computer Science education in Government College, Lahore. Let me take this opportunity to thank you for sending us $ 20,000.00 to cover the salaries of the staff of Computer Science in Government College.

We will also satisfy the SAF conditions of linkage with two other SARC countries and the College would provide the matching contribution for the Computer Science courses as well. Thus we look forward to your continued support for the teaching programmes of the Government College, Lahore. This would indeed be an important source for improvement of Government College Computer Education programme.

As regards the restoration of the Old Gymnasium building, the architects are now working out a plan which will be sent to you for approval and arrangement of funds for the same in due course.

Both male and female students are admitted in the Government College for courses at the B.A./B.Sc. (Honors), BCS (Honors), MBA, MA/M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D levels.
