During his visit to Bhutan, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Madanjeet Singh and SAF Founder was received on March 15th 2010 at Paro Airport by Mr Chencho Tshering (SAF Bhutan Vice Chairperson) and Mr Lham Nidup (Secretary SAF Bhutan).
On 16th March Mr LyonpoThakur Singh Powdyel, Minister of Education assisted by Ms Jamyang Choeden, Chief Program Officer Bhutan National Commission for UNESCO and Mr. Sangay Zam Secretary Ministry of Education met with Ambassador Madanjeet Singh
Later Ambassador Singh and Mme France Marquet met Mr Chencho Dorji Director of Youth & sports and Chief Commissioner of Bhutan Scouts, followed by a cordial audience with Hon’able Lyonchen Jigme Y. Thinley, Prime Minister, Royal Government of Bhutan.
His Majesty the King Druk Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk received Ambassador Madanjeet Singh and Mme France Marquet at the Royal Palace (Dzong) and gifted the SAF Founder with a beautiful Bhutanese table.

In the afternoon Ambassador Madanjeet Singh inaugurated the Tarayana Foundation Centre and visited a very interesting exhibition of the Bhutaneses artist. He met with members of the Bhutan collective Vast (Voluntary Artist Studio) who have been trained at the School of Visual arts, Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Lahore, Pakistan, under the Madanjeet Singh group scholarship programme. In the evening, the MoU for the establishment of Madanjeet Singh Centre for South Asia Forestry Studies (MCSAFS) was signed between the Minister of Agriculture Mr. Lyonpo Pema, Jaymtsho and Ambassador Madanjeet Singh. MCSAFS will be set at the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment for which the SAF founder has donated US$ 500,000/-. This was followed by a dinner hosted by Mr. Lyonpo Sangay Ngedup for a number of VIPs at which spectacular Bhutanese dances were performed.
