First-Ever SAF Alumni Meet 2024 Held in Kathmandu with Over 350 Participants from Eight Institutions

The first-ever SAF Alumni meet was held from 4th to 6th December 2024 at Kathmandu. Attended by more than 350 Alumni from all the eight SAF Institutions of Excellence and also Representatives from all the SAF Chapters. Apart from a series of events conducted by Alumni of the Institutes, the meet provided an opportunity to SAF Alumni to interaction with scholars other than from their alma mater.
His Excellency Mr. Ram Sahaya Yadav, Vice President of Nepal, was the Chief Guest who inaugurated the event in the presence of Mr. N. Ram, and Mme France Marquet, the President and Principal Trustee and other Trustees of Madanjeet Singh Foundation (MSF). The inaugural ceremony was also attended by Chairpersons and other representatives of SAF Chapters and Directors of SAF Institutions of Excellence.
The Event was organised and hosted by SAF-Nepal under the leadership of its Chairperson, Dr. Nshchal Nath Pandey and his team.
On the second day of the meet, the first group of Alumni from UMISARC, UMIKS, UMSAILS and UMCDSRC visited National College, Kathmandu University and had a discussion on ‘Prospects and Challenges of Regional Cooperation in South Asia. The second group of Alumni from UMISAA met in the Siddharth Art Gallery in their preparation for South Asian Art Exhibition, which was held on 5th evening.
The third group consisting of Alumni from UMSGET, UMCSAWM and UMCSAFS visited the Living Mountain Lab at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD).
The last group Alumni from UMCSAJ visited Kantipur Publications, the largest circulated newspaper group in Nepal.
The day ended with Alumni and Chapter representatives visiting the South Asian Art Exhibition where creation of UMISAA Alumni was in display.
