UNESCO to Host 14th Award Ceremony for UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Prize for Tolerance and Non-Violence

On Friday, November 15, 2024, UNESCO will hold the 14th award ceremony of the prestigious UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence. The event is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. in Maison de l’UNESCO, Salle I, located at 125, avenue de Suffren, Paris 7ᵉᵘ.

The ceremony will be attended by high-profile dignitaries including Xing Qu, Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and France Marquet, Principal Administrator of the Madanjeet Singh Foundation. This significant event will celebrate the global commitment to fostering tolerance and peace, underscoring UNESCO’s mission to build bridges across cultural and societal divides.

Established in 1995 in honor of the 125th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth, the Madanjeet Singh Prize recognizes individuals, institutions, and organizations that have made exceptional contributions to the promotion of tolerance and non-violence. The accolade serves as a reminder of the ongoing need for efforts that champion mutual understanding and harmony among diverse communities.

Attendees can expect a bilingual ceremony, with simultaneous interpretation available in both English and French. The invitation is valid for two people and will be checked at the entrance, subject to availability.
