South Asia Foundation calls for 16 fully paid scholarships for M.Tech in Green Energy Technology UMSGET, Pondicherry University

PONDICHERRY UNIVERSITY MADANJEET SCHOOL OF GREEN ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES DEPARTMENT OF GREEN ENERGY TECHNOLOGY RV NAGAR, PERIYAKALAPET, PUDUCHERRY – 605 014, INDIA

Nominations are invited from respective SAF Chapters of SAARC countries for admission to two-year regular full-time M.Tech. Green Energy Technology program at the Department of Green Energy Technology, Madanjeet School of Green Energy Technologies, Pondicherry University, for the Academic Year 2022-23.  The last date of receipt of nomination through the SAF-India chapter is 8th JULY 2022 (FRIDAY).  You may nominate the candidates at the earliest to facilitate timely admission. Visa processing shall be as per Govt. of India norms.

Eligibility criteria:

1. B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Civil/Energy/Chemical/Biotechnology/Environmental Engineering with at least 55% in the qualifying examination.  OR
2. M.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/Environmental Science/Nanoscience/Bioenergy/Photonics /Biotechnology/ Material Science with Mathematics at B.Sc. level with at least 55% in the qualifying examination. OR
3. Post-graduate degree in Science under 10+2+3+2 years of study or its equivalent with specialization in any of the following disciplines: Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Nanoscience, Biotechnology.  OR
4. Four years of Engineering programs under a 10+2+4 pattern of education with any of the following engineering specializations or their equivalent: Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Materials, Geology, Hydrometeorology, Civil, Biotechnology, Chemical, Environmental.

Any other equivalent qualification claimed for admission shall be decided by the faculty of DGET as per the guidelines of the Association of Indian Universities.

Number of Fellowships: 16 fellowships are available to SAARC country students, equally distributed among the SAARC countries, including India.

Selection Criteria: Country-wise preliminary selection and nomination should be completed by the respective SAF chapters based on the eligibility criteria, and keeping gender equality. The final selection of the nominated candidates will be done by the admission committee constituted at the Department of Green Energy Technology, Pondicherry University.

Emoluments: Admitted students shall be given full course fee that includes tuition fee, registration fee, examination fee, University hostel accommodation charges, group medical insurance, and an annual contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/- to support study-related expenses. Also, reimbursement of one-time onward and return economy class, shortest route air travel expenses, subject to a maximum of Rs. 30,000/-  shall be made, and a monthly stipend of Rs. 12,500/- towards living expenses shall be given.       

Adherence: The academic program advertised here complies with the rules and regulations of Pondicherry University for the entire duration of the study. Due to Covid19 pandemic issues, admission and the classes will be conducted online until offline classes resume on the Pondicherry University campus. Expecting to open the offline classes from August 2022.
