SAF scholarship holders listening to Khaled Ahmed lecturing to our MA students

These series of very thought provoking talks are only possible because of MISAA funding In recent lectures, Mr. Rafay Alam talked about the city of Lahore in terms of Geography and Culture. Mr. Qalandar Memon’s lecture was based on contemporary ideas in Poetry and Music. He specifically talked about understanding contemporary thoughts in Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s vision. Mr. I.A Rehman gave us a clear picture of the chronological history of human rights. Mr. Khalid Ahmad’s topic was ‘The Painful birth of a Nation’. He led the discussion of ideas related to ‘Nation’ and autonomy of Provinces. He looked at reflections of religious practice in the economy and the thought “what if we were creating a museum of regrets?” This was a vibrant and thought provoking discussion for the whole group.
