This countryside friend has spoken her heart out and is not dishonest in her message to the readers of this souvenir. Simplicity is the best complement to personify her. Not a boarder unlike her most of the class mates, Saima Hamid travelled around 40 KMs every day to make classroom feel friendly. Mindful of what is happening around her, because of her, Saima has evolved as a responsible student in the building of IKS as an institution. Her absence would make even her foes unhappy.

While I am writing this, I feel the meaning of it. I visualize its importance years ahead. These words may put you to laugh/smile or other! Though not now but there... where you start missing the IKS, when you start missing the scuffles, the café gossips, the untimely errands to the department/picnics, in & out of thoughts/memories and then at years apart in our respective homes. You definitely will miss every thick & thin of our oneness. Honestly, I have started to miss you. You may have found me hard/harsh at times; you may have thought me as ‘silent colleague- one who is short of emotions & care’. But believe me, I am full of these. I am loving, caring and a good friend. In you, I see my real family. You are my brothers and sisters. You are the ones who bore my non-sense attitude and timely discourses. You have been nice to me all along the course.

Time is such a brutal entity that it kills for what it has left in past whether good or bad. Our time at IKS is at the fag end. We are parting away, departing from our usual schedules and courses. Here, as a rule of friendliness, I must write that ‘we will be in touch’ as the famous Bollywood movie ‘3 idiots’ quotes but I am not writing it though I will be up to it. I don’t make fake promises, for the businesses ahead don’t foresight/anticipate their yields which are aggrieved by the uncertainty of our lives and when those of us are living in distant countries and conflictridden Kashmir; the hope of life becomes bleak.
