The 6th SAF-Scout Friendship Camp begins today

The sixth South Asian Foundation (SAF) Scout Friendship Camp will begin at Mouchak in Gazipur today, says a press release.

The scouts friendship camping programme started in 2002 in cooperation with South Asian Foundation (SAF) to boost friendship and cooperation, and cultural exchange among Saarc nations.

Chief Adviser Fakhtuddin Ahmed will inaugurate the grand opening of the camp as the chief guest.

About 350 Rover scouts and leaders from Saarc countries will take part in the camp.

Chief National Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts Md Abul Kalam Azad will give his welcome speech in the opening ceremony while Education Secretary Md Momtajul Islam will preside over the function.

A correspondent from Benapole adds: A 39-member Indian delegation and 12-member delegation from the Maldives yesterday arrived in Bangladesh via Benapole border to attend the camp.
