South Asia Foundation- Bhutan's Alumni Meeting held on 6th Dec 2022 at 1800Hrs, Thimphu Bhutan

Madanjeet Singh Foundation Principal Trustee, Trustees along with South Asia Foundation Chairperson and Directors  during SAF Bhutan's  Alumni Network  Meeting held on 6th December 2022 at Terma Linca Resort & Spa, Thimphu Bhutan from 6.00 PM to 8.00 PM.

Welcome by SAF Alumni Network Coordinator.

The Coordinator of Bhutan SAF Alumni Network, Mr.  Sonam Tobgay welcomed the participants and expressed gratitude to Madam France for organizing the gathering of the 19 students. He also thanked the MSF and in particular late HE Ambassador Madanjeet Singh for giving the opportunities to undergo scholarship programs in the SARRC region. He also mentioned that the scholarship beneficiaries are in a better position in the world of work and are serving in various capacities in the government, corporate and private sectors.

Key Note address by Madam France, Principal Trustee, MSF

Madam France, who is also the Principal Trustee of the MSF thanked the Alumni for making it to the meeting. She explained the dreams of the founding father and urged all Almuni members to play a proactive role in furthering vision of the foundation and also said that it is time to ask each one to payback in kind. She urged the participants to come up with programs and activities and advocate to the relevant stakeholders on the significance of the establishment of the MSF and also think of sustaining in their receptive countries. She also informed the gathering that the centenary celebration of the founding father is going to take place in Nepal on 16 April 2024. She expected that each chapter would come up with new ideas and programs for the celebration and that each chapter would be represented by 25 Alumni who are active in their respective SAF chapters.

Open Discussion.

 The open  discussion forum was mainly focused on the way-forward in sustaining the Foundation.

The alumni members submitted the following programs and activities towards promoting the vision of MSF:

1. Organize group exhibition on fine arts.
2. Advocacy and education on climate change mitigation
3. Carry out social programs on the achievements by SAF students.
4. Encourage theme paper presentations to the wider sections of the society.
5. Develop social media platform to disseminate information on SAF activities.
6. Posting testimonials of the scholars.
7. UMCSAFS to conduct programs through exhibition, road show or any other platform to promote/advocate on the contribution by SAF.
