My name is Aziz Hazara from Afghanistan, I am one of graduates from UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institute for South Asian Art, Lahore, Pakistan (UMISSA) in 2017. ‘My art works across mediums including photography, video, sound, language programming, text and multimedia installations, exploring questions of identity, memory, archive, conflict, surveillance and migration in the context of power relations, geopolitics and the panopticon.
It’s been a bit hard times due to Covid-19 Pandemic that some of the most important art events around the world got closed, some of which I was invited to participate got postponed some got cancelled including Art Basel in Hong Kong, beginning of the crisis I was in Sydney for the opening of 22nd biennale of Sydney, I had to cut my trip short cause EU was closing it’s border so I got back to Belgium and spent the confinement in Ghent, Belgium.

Thank you for being with us during exhibition in Marseille Muceem, France
Now in the coming months I have 4 solo exhibitions in New York, Barcelona, Geneva and Winnipeg Canada. The Han Nefkens Foundation, in collaboration with the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, is glad to present the first solo exhibition of mine inaugurating on October 2, 2020, at the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, Barcelona. The exhibition in Barcelona is pretty special to me as it shows recent body of works that I have made after my graduation from UMISAA BNU. It would be really great to invite you for the VIP opening if by any chance you are around.
