The academic year (2011-2012) at the School of Visual Arts and Design at Beaconhouse National University has been fast-paced and buzzing with creative energy over at the new campus at Tarogil, near Raiwind.
A larger number of students have been facilitated by UMISAA. A diverse range of workshops, fellowships, publications, and exhibitions have raised the profile of the University as well as the UMISAA initiative.
The unusual presence of students from all the SAARC countries, who are studying art and design, has been a unique phenomenon not only in Pakistan but regionally. A comment from Art Dubai stated that UMISAA at BNU was playing a unique role in raising the level of interest in visual arts in Kabul.
Currently there are 16 students from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, studying at BNU.
