Testimony 21st October 2009

I, Raju G.C and Sajana Joshi, extend our heart-felt Namaste and Greetings from Nepal. We, two Nepalese recipients of Madanjeet Singh South Asian Scholarship in Visual Arts At Beaconhouse National University, are very happy to write to you.

We have addressed you here as sir. However, you are a gardener who helped us bloom. Without your noble initiative to give us scholarship at Beaconhouse National University (BNU), we would never have been able to achieve the academic dynamism that shaped us in the way are now. We take this space to express our heart-felt gratitude to you.

We remember quite vividly meeting you at Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Lahore; Pakistan in 2004. Then, we were in our second year. We still remember your cheerful and charming face, your encouraging words and gestures.

We successfully completed ‘Bachelor in Fine Arts’ from BNU and also completed our ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Art and Design Education’. I am also glad to inform you that I was the recipient of the Gold medal for achieving first position in the batch 2003 -2007. We taught at bnu for two consecutive years initially as teaching assistants and later as lecturers.
When in Pakistan we realized that we have to come back to Nepal and contribute to our immediate community. We are currently teaching at Kathmandu University, School of Arts, Centre for art and Design; Mandikhatar, Kathmandu; Nepal.

We are also glad to share the stories of our success with you.

Sajana has recently been a participating artist at 4th Fukuoka Asian Art Triennale 2009 (FT4). You could see the images of the works in the following link :
