Classes will begin from 4 July, 2016

 

Alan Rusbridger, who is demitting office as Editor of The Guardian (UK) to take over as the Chairman of the Scott Trust which runs the paper, will be teaching at the ACJ in the first term of the Class of 2016-17. He will also deliver the inaugural lecture to the class on the opening day of the new academic year, Monday July 4, 2016.


ELIGIBILITY

A Bachelor’s Degree is mandatory. Graduates in any discipline and students awaiting their degree examination results are eligible to apply for admission to the ACJ. Enrolled students should provide their degree certificate to the Registrar within the first week of commencement of classes. Students awaiting their examination results should provide their degree certificate latest by the end of February 2017.

EXAMINATION

After a careful assessment of applications, short-listed candidates will be required to take an entrance examination on Sunday, May 15, 2016.

The examination will be offered in Thiruvananthapuram, Cochin, Bangalore,Chennai, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Patna, Mumbai, New Delhi, and possibly other cities, depending on the number of applications received from a particular region.

The examination will be in two parts: (a) to test the applicant’s English language skills and facility and (b) the awareness of current affairs and general knowledge. It will also test the candidates’ writing ability and assess their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Other procedures may be prescribed for candidates from abroad.

ENTRANCE EXAM

Morning Session: 9.30 am to 11.30 am English (Paper Pattern)
Tea Break: 11.30 am – 12 noon
Afternoon Session: 12 pm to 1.30 pm General Knowledge (Paper pattern)
*(The paper pattern may change this year as the exam will be delivered online)

INTERVIEW

Applicants who have done well in the entrance examination will be invited to an interview at the college between June 1 and 6, 2016.

Admission results will be announced on June 8, 2016.
