Mr Rabiul Alam, Alumnus,UMCSAJ Wins UNICEF Media Award-2023 for Compelling Story on Erosion-Hit Children

Mr Abiul Alam, a SAF Alumni from the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Centre of South Asian Journalism (UMCSAJ), Asian College of Journalism, Chennai, India has been awarded the UNICEF Media Award-2023 for his compelling story titled "Manta and Erosion-Hit Children Grapple with Endless Identity Crisis," shedding light on the plight of children deprived of their basic human rights, published on an immersive storytelling media platform named, Dhaka Note. Formerly, he completed his post-graduation from the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai, India in 2023 having received a South Asia Foundation Scholarship. He has demonstrated a keen eye for impactful journalism also served at renowned Bangladeshi newspapers such as Ajker Patrika, The New Age, and The New Nation. He has also served as the President of the Jagannath University Journalists' Association during his study at the university.

With prior experience at renowned Bangladeshi newspapers such as Ajker Patrika, The New Age, and The New Nation, he has demonstrated a keen eye for impactful journalism. Rabiul Alam is also the co-founder of Dhaka Note, a new immersive storytelling media platform. Formerly serving as the President of the Jagannath University Journalists' Association, he completed his post-graduation from the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai, India in 2023 having received a South Asia Foundation Scholarship.
